Stepping Up and Out, will take you on a
mind/body/spirit journey as you explore the
relationship you have with yourself and the
world that surrounds you. You'll discover the

where mind, body and spirit come together to
create holistic wellness.

Patty
Geiger will coordinate your outdoor activities.
She has more than 20 years outdoor adventure
experience including equestrian, downhill
skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing and hiking.
Patty's Stepping Up and Out business,
wellness adventure trips for women, is based in
Columbus, Ohio, with trips in Ohio and Maine.
She is also the president of PDG Communications,
LLC, specializing in marketing strategy and
media relations, a career that encompasses more
than 16 years' experience in Columbus.
Jacki
Mann, Certified Holistic Wellness Coach/R.N. a
R.N., owner of Whole Living Wellness™, has
overcome myriad challenges in her own life and
now inspires, encourages and challenges others
to step out and into a new realm of creating
what they want in life. She has an extensive
array of resources and tools she enjoys sharing
with others.
Randall
Wellman, spa manager, has been a licensed
massage therapist since 1995. He graduated from
the Central Ohio School of Massage. He also has
a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio
University and a Masters of Natural Health from
the Clayton College of Natural Health. Randy is
originally from the Columbus, Ohio area. While
living there he worked in the legendary
Beechwold Natural Clinic and the NEW Clinic. He
has the opportunity to study with well known
healers, authors, and leaders in the natural
healthcare world. Randy owned and operated White
Oak Massage and Spa Services before joining
forces with the Spa at Cedar Falls. Randy is
skilled in many massage and spa modalities and
created the menu for the spa. He believe the
effects of massage therapy and spa treatments go
deeper than the "feel good" level they produce.
"The treatments we do actually help the body
heal from the stresses and toxins of everyday
life and give the body permission to heal itself
as our Creator intended."
Mimi Morrison,
owner, Touch the Earth Adventures, is an
experienced outdoor guide. She inspires people
to get tuned into the Earth through hiking,
kayaking and cycling expeditions in Ohio, South
Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Cape Cod.

Join Stephen (Dayton Ohio's Poet~Psychologist)
and Shawna (one of New York's finest Yoga
Instructors and Thai Bodyworkers) for this one
of a kind experience. This father-daughter team
invite you to their two day retreat on October
31-November 2, 2010. The retreat is for those seeking to
explore and expand an understanding of the Self
while nurturing the physical and expanding the
lingual!
Stephen will share from poetry he wrote at The
Inn. These include: Poems from The Inn at Cedar
Falls as well as Poems from Deep Woods. Shawna
will share from her expertise in Yoga and Thai
Bodywork. Sessions are focused on the
participant. They will begin with mild Yoga
movement as well as meditation. Time for writing
and sharing one's own expression of poetry is
provided within a supportive environment. Using
the Hocking Hills beauty and workshops
environment at The Inn, Stephen and Shawna
create the space for exploration of the nature
of one's inner environment.
Each participant will receive a complimentary
copy of Poems from The Inn at Cedar falls:
The Written Words and a copy of Poems
from Deep Woods: The Written Words.
Stephen's educational background includes a PHD
in Psychology and a Seminary degree. He is a
Licensed Psychologist and is in Private
Practice.
Shawna's educational background includes a BS in
dance. She also has multiple Yoga Teacher
Training as well as two Thai Yoga Massage
Certifications. Shawna just completed a month
long trip to Thailand both volunteering with
children and finishing her second Thai Yoga
Massage Certification.
Stephan and Shawna's role model for change has
been Dr. Rev. Samuel Emerick. Sam is 93 years
old and resides in Port Charlotte, Florida. Sam
was one of the original persons in the early
stage and development of a Fund for Humanity,
which eventually became Habitat for
Humanity. Stephen and his father
traveled to Zaire, Africa for Samuel Emerick's
consultation with Habitat projects. Stephen and
Shawna carry on the family tradition of honoring
one's voice and body in service as the sacred
nature of life. Stephen and Shawna have a
passion for travel.
Shawna has lived for the last seven years in New
York City where she continues to teach yoga,
offer Thai Yoga Massage and perform by dancing
throughout all boroughs.
This two day father-daughter workshop begins on
Sunday at 1pm and concludes Monday at 3pm. Cost
for a single room is $402.34 and a shared room is
$315.77/person. This includes overnight
accommodation in a room, dinner, gourmet brown
bag lunch, breakfast, taxes, gratuities, poetry
book and instructor time. The workshop is
limited to 12 people to allow for individual
instruction.

from Thailand. This five day course is
offered by Anthony R. Conard M.A. a
certified teacher of Lotus Palm Thai
Yoga Massage and fulfills the first step
to Thai Yoga Massage certification.

The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is pleased to
offer a course in Thai Yoga Massage through OM
Yoga Studio. Thai Yoga Massage is a sacred
healing art from Thailand performed with "metta"
or loving kindness. Called Nuat Phan Boran in
Thai this healing art is rooted in the
Theravadin Buddhist tradition with origins in
Vedic or Hindu Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda the
oldest medical system in the world.
Traditionally Thai massage was taught in
Buddhist Temples and traces its origins to
Jivaka the "father" of Thai Massage, who was a
friend and physician to the Buddha himself. Thai
Yoga Massage, it is a system of assisted yoga
postures performed fully clothed, on the floor
with "palming" and "thumbing" along Sen lines or
energy meridians, which are similar but simpler
in conception to the Nadis of Hatha Yoga and the
meridians of Chinese acupuncture. To perform
Thai Yoga Massage well the practitioner must
have the intention of working the Sen lines to
promote wellness in mind, body and spirit.
Traditionally Thai Yoga Massage was considered
to be a mind-body-spiritual as well as a medical
treatment. Thai Yoga Massage, combines safe
stances, rocking and touch techniques that
unfolds in a beautiful dance. Thai Yoga massage
is a transformative form of meditation in
action. Anyone in normal health can learn Thai
Massage. The course listed below will be taught
by Anthony R. Conrad (Dharmadas).
Thai Yoga Massage Level 1:
Five Days: Monday through Thursday from
9am-4:30pm, and Friday 9am-1pm. In the Level 1
class, you will learn a 90 minute Thai Yoga
Massage sequence. The 30 hrs of class
instruction is the first step towards
certification, which is earned after completion
of a Level 2 Thai-Yoga course.

Incorporate the fundamentals of effortless,
flowing transitions between postures

Maintain proper body alignment & stances that
create a mutually beneficial massage for
practitioner & recipient

Discuss the history and philosophy of Thai Yoga
Massage

Apply energy balance through acupressure and

Apply safety precautions for preventing injury &
avoiding contraindications

Integrate metta (loving kindness) and meditation
into your bodywork
Meet the Instructor:

Anthony R. Conard M.A. (Dharmadas) is a
former resident of Kripalu Center and a
certified teacher of Lotus Palm Thai Yoga
Massage. He has studied with Master Kam Thye
Chow extensively. Anthony is a Kripalu Yoga
Instructor. He has been practicing yoga for 23
years and was initiated by Kripalu's founder
Yogi Amrit Desai in 1986. He has been
teaching yoga for 12 years, and has been
teaching Thai Yoga Massage since 2008. With a
master's degree in Anthropology, his relaxed and
inviting teaching style reflects his
cross-cultural interest giving students access
to both beginning as well as the deeper
practices of yoga.
Participants can opt to come to the Inn daily
for class, instruction and lunch or; choose to
stay at the Inn with a fabulous package that
includes; instruction, room, 2 dinners (on the
1st and last night), and lunch daily. In order
to keep cost as low as possible, there is the
option of sharing a room with another class
participant.
Rooms will be reserved for Sunday, February
28-Thursday, March 4, 2010.
Cost for Shared Room: $800.00
Includes class fees, shared room, 5 breakfast, 5
lunches, dinner Monday & Thursday nights, taxes.
Cost for Single Room: $975
Includes class fees, single room, 5 breakfast, 5
lunches, dinner Monday & Thursday nights, taxes.
Cost for Students Commuting: $600
Includes class fees, taxes and lunch all 5 days
